Dolphin Address 12
May 17th 2008
Someone said: ‘If all of us go to Sladeen, Fungi surely will come over because of us being together are like an ultimate dolphin magnet.’ But as usual Fungi happened to have his own agenda and surprised everyone by having three dolphins as visitors. So then we dreamed of the dolphins having their own conference to provide us clumsy aficionados with the follow-up that was curiously absent.
All of us, at least all of us that have ever been swimming with a dolphin, know that the full impact of such a swim hits you afterwards, so not hastily having formed a premature platform to act upon, but let every little byte of dolphin sink in to configure and manifest itself.
Another someone coined the abbreviation ‘PDES’, which stands for ‘Post Dolphin Euphoria Syndrome’, which is rather a tongue-in-cheek definition of the undecided outcome of our mating of the minds.
To characterise the conference is an omnifarious enterprise. There was general opposed to specific, empathy versus matter-of-fact, wild and free against strict regulations and the like.
Sometimes the sum of the parts was less than the whole and incidents were countered with overall ruling. In the latter respect one photo of a guy waving a wine bottle at a bottlenose dolphin was portrayed as an evil spirit.
There was typical reasoning of landlubbers who don’t swim, in sketching the domain of the dolphin in two dimensions, forgetting or ignoring the third which provides an in-depth outcome for a besieged dolphin.
There was preaching to the converted as there was to the inconvertible, but there was unequivocally a table, abundantly laden with the most diverse info-dishes and opinion courses.
A balanced report of the conference summing up pros and cons is a matter incalculable, just as the power of our bonding is immeasurable.
To illustrate my personal appreciation of the conference, I mostly felt like a dolphin in a feeding frenzy devouring the max of what had been rounded up.
I passionately hope and silently trust that soon the seeds of dolphin love that are shared by every single one of us will germinate and flower in the
widest sense of dolphin power.
